As we age, our skin undergoes natural changes that often lead to fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss—common signs of aging that many of us wish to minimize. At The Narra Clinic, we offer a safe and effective solution—hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. They are gaining popularity for their impressive anti-aging effects.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a sugar molecule naturally found in our body, plays a pivotal role in maintaining skin hydration and volume. However, its production slows down with age, leading to drier skin and volume loss.
Hyaluronic fillers are gel-like substances injected under the skin to replace lost volume, smooth lines, soften creases, or enhance facial contours. They are made from synthesized HA, making them compatible with our bodies, safe, and highly effective.
Patients often express apprehension about looking 'overdone'. At The Narra Clinic, our medical aesthetic approach is about highlighting your natural beauty. Our founder, Margarita, ensures that each treatment is tailored to your unique needs and preferences. We aim to enhance your features subtly and naturally, never transforming you into someone unrecognizable.
Hyaluronic fillers provide instant results. They help restore lost volume, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and improve overall facial contours, making them an excellent non-surgical option for addressing signs of aging.
The hydrating properties of HA fillers also improve your skin's hydration levels, giving it a plumper, healthier appearance. Further, they stimulate collagen production, offering long-term benefits by improving your skin's health and elasticity.
Hyaluronic fillers are considered relatively safe. As with any medical procedure, there are inherent risks and potential adverse events. The most common reactions are injection site reactions such as pinpoint bleeding, redness, bruising and swelling. There are typically temporary and subside in a few days. More severe but less common adverse events include vascular occlusions, Tyndall effect, nodules or an unfavourable aesthetic effct. It is important that your injector outlines all the potential side effects and assesses your medical history to determine if you are an eligible candidate for dermal fillers.
Vascular occlusions occur when filler is inadvertently injected into an artery and blood flow/circulation is impeded. Competency in anatomy, appropriate injection depth and product selection all contribute in reducing the risk of a vascular occlusion. Management of a vascular occlusion must be done as soon as possible. Appropriate assessment during and after the procedure is important along with ensuring that a client is aware of the signs and symptoms to look out for once they are home. A vascular occlusion is managed using an enzyme called hyaluronidase which can breakdown the filler to restore blood flow. This enzyme has some similar properties to bee venom so if you are allergic to bee stings then you are not an appropriate candidate for dermal fillers. An allergy patch test should be done before the use of hyaluronidase.
However, hyaluronic filler procedures should be performed by trained and experienced professionals to ensure safety and efficacy. Margarita, our Nurse Practitioner, has received specialized training and continues to stay updated with the latest techniques and protocols.
Whether your goal is to minimize the appearance of fine lines, restore lost volume, or simply improve your skin's health and glow, hyaluronic fillers can be an advantageous addition to your skincare regimen. These treatments are customizable, making them suitable for individuals of all ages and skin types.
